Workplace Pastor

Through my religious community, I have had the opportunity to offer informal pastoral support to a range of people. This has involved extensive active listening, practical help, more formal structured mentoring and empathising with different parties in marital conflict. I have experienced a number of struggles and challenges in my own personal history which have developed in me a degree of self-awareness and resilience.

I was the Workplace Pastor at The GlaxoSmithKline, Christian Fellowship (GSK House branch) from 2008 to 2013. The multi denominational fellowship has been running at GlaxoSmithKline in some form since 1943. I had overall pastoral care, running teaching courses, planning and managing special services such as Easter, Christmas, and Pentecost events.

I supported GlaxoSmithKline’s Diversity and Inclusion Group to establish a Multi-Faith Employee Network Group in 2011; creating an inclusive environment for all faiths across the GlaxoSmithKline UK workplace. I worked alongside the faith groups like the Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Christians,  Buddhist, and Sikhs to name a few, to help support faith in the workplace and promote understanding between employer and employees.

At St Paul’s Hammersmith, I co-led the Men’s Ministry for 4 years; encouraging and supporting men with their journey closer to God. We had numerous events and activities with included quarterly breakfast meetings, teaching workshops, sports day, abseiling fundraising, and social gatherings.I was also a member of the children’s ministry at St Paul’s Hammersmith for over two years and prior to joining St Paul’s I was a Youth Worker at Church of Grace for 2 years.
